Product and market
Crypto to cash, for everyday spending.
Tokicard was building a global payments product designed to help users spend seamlessly across borders: convert stablecoins, pay bills, withdraw to fiat and spend with a virtual dollar card.
The company was early-stage and pre-launch. It needed clear go-to-market direction, strong messaging around cross-border payment problems, alignment between product, growth and brand, and a launch strategy that could scale beyond day one.
My role
Owning the growth and GTM foundation.
I worked closely with the founder and product team. My role was to turn the product into a clear, market-ready story, not just promote features.
- Go-to-market strategy and launch planning
- Messaging and positioning framework
- Growth narrative for cross-border payments
- Early acquisition channel planning (paid + organic)
- Product-marketing alignment for feature launches
- Launch roadmap and execution priorities
Acquisition strategy
What I built.
- 01
Go-to-Market Strategy
Designed Tokicard's GTM roadmap from scratch, defined target users and core use cases, and mapped acquisition paths for early traction.
- 02
Messaging & Positioning
Clarified the core cross-border problem Tokicard solves and built a messaging framework that simplified payments for non-technical users.
- 03
Growth Foundation
Planned early traction loops and the waitlist strategy, and structured acquisition experiments for post-launch scaling, keeping decisions data-informed.
Payment infrastructure
Supporting payment partnership discussions.
I was involved in payment partnership discussions initiated by the founder with PalmPay and Quidax. PalmPay was involved in the naira settlement side, while Quidax was involved in the crypto-side settlement leg.
Compliance coordination
Hands-on with the paperwork.
I worked hands-on with KYC/AML documentation, contracts and terms and conditions, coordinating with the company's lawyer to prepare them.
Results
Pre-launch traction.
These were pre-launch waitlist registrations, not active customers. The product had not launched during this period.
